Hailing from a middle-class backdrop in Hyderabad, Dr. Kesan's journey began in the corridors of St. Francis Girls' High School. Her leadership skills blossomed from an early age, she was selected as the group leader for first grade and went on to become the house captain in grade ten, As a young leader, she was not just recognized for her academic prowess but also for her multifaceted talents that spanned debates, dance, and sports.During her school days she was drawn towards medicine and decided he ambition was to become a doctor. She was introduced to basketball at a very young age and developed a passion for the sport and by her hard work and dedication she earned her a spot in the district tournaments and a proud selection to the National team. She went on to play 10 national tournaments and 1 Inter University tournament. Apart from basketball, Srimathy also represented her state in several athletic events, her heart oscillating between dreams of medicine and the rhythmic beats of basketball. Commitment towards basketball and athletic events detracted her from becoming a doctor, she went on to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in commerce at Kasturba Gandhi College, Joined the Nation building activity as a cadet in NCC. Giving word of command was her favorite part to begin with, since she was accustomed to this in school. She was referred to as an army officer in school by her teachers due to her ability to lead the school contingent and deliver a loud and clear word of command. Every camp was a special memory in Srimathy’s life and moments built around the parade, cross country, best cadet competitions, firing, signals, and medicine. It was a life changing experience for her as she was decorated with the Senior Under Officer rank in an extremely short span. An extremely proud moment in her life was when she was chosen as the Best Cadet for the Delhi Republic day camp 1992, the Parade Commander, and Youth exchange cadet too. During her NCC days Srimathy bagged a lot of awards in various State and National level competitions. Most of all, she had the Honor of giving a Para salute to the Chief Minister of the State. Senior Under Officer Srimathy Srinivasan was Chosen to lead the Contingent Andhra Pradesh at the Delhi Republic day and at Delhi for the Prime Minister’s rally. Her versatility got her to be one among 11 cadets chosen for Youth Exchange, Canada. Unfortunately, due to a major motor vehicle accident she had to forego this once a lifetime opportunity. During the same year 1992, for the NCC day celebrations at Hyderabad, she was chosen as the Parade Commander and gave a sword salute to the dignitaries. A rarest feat and 1st of its kind as a girl cadet. She was decorated with a medal and highly appreciated by the Guest of Honor Retd.General. K V Krishna Rao, who graciously mentioned that he would recommend her entry into the armed forces. Srimathy was extremely excited with the prospect of joining the armed forces but her excitement was short lived as marriage was on the cards.The same day she traveled to Chennai for her wedding which was two weeks away. A 2nd year graduation student , 18 years of age, was married on 6th December 1992. Destiny moved her from “Sword to Spatula”. This new life in Chennai and that of being a homemaker was very different, a typical traditional South Indian middle class joint family that confined her talents to household chores . 16 years went by being at home as a dotted homemaker but, this did not one bit shrink her enthusiasm, an ember of ambition continued to smolder within, waiting for the right gust of wind to ignite anew. That gust arrived in the form of a serendipitous reunion with her NCC comrade, Reema Sisodia. A transformative trip to the U.S. exposed her to the nuances of space exploration, setting the stage for her entrepreneurial foray. Determined to reshape India's space narrative, she embarked on a remarkable journey, marked by milestones like the 'World's Lightest 3-D Printed Satellite' in collaboration with NASA. Srimathy Traveled to the US for a conference where she chanced upon the Space coast Directors and NASA Astronauts and understood the nuances of taking children to NASA (Kennedy Space Centre) for a scientific experiential learning. Pursued MBA at the age of 36 years and then a Doctorate, which was a childhood dream that was conferred by an American University for her Gurukulam concept, a new leash of life, a new path, a new hat she adorned. Srimathy, started her organization Space Kidz India in 2012, which now stands tall as the only “Woman led Space organization” in the Country which has signed an MOU with ISRO, InSpace in the presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister and interacting with him the 2nd time., the 1st one happened on 14th of December 2020 about the new Space policy and yet again was a priceless moment for Dr. Kesan as she continues to hold her vision of providing and giving back to the Nation in some form. Awards and accolades were her new normal. SKI has built numerous World records till date. Unfurling the Indian National flag at 30 kms Near Space was chosen as the Best celebration of India’s 75th Independent anniversary across the globe. This part of History was created when she handpicked 750 rural children from Kashmir to Kanyakumari to build a Satellite “ AzaadiSat “ on 10th February 2023. This was applauded and accoladed by one and all in the industry space and science fraternity. Srimathy is a proud mother of one daughter (biologically) who is an advocate now and 5 non biological sons. The army training given by the officers during the NCC camps has always been the strength to bounce back in her life, “she believes age is just a number, you need to have grit and self confidence to succeed. No self pity whatsoever . Bygones are bygones no crying over spilled milk… keep that smile intact and things will fall in place is her staunch belief. Balancing a conservative family and a male dominated industry without an engineering background, financial support or work experience was immensely challenging and many a times stood as a piece of mockery, but, come what may she flew as a phoenix bird undeterred by all that came her way. An invitation to share stage with Stephan Hawking in an event in China was the most treasured moment she cherishes, apart from being featured in Forbes, Fortune Financial Express etc and branded as the “Czarina” of space industry in business standard. The only Indian Woman to fly the Zero Gravity flight, who flew with Apollo Astronaut Charlie Duke and Private Astronaut Richard Garriott . Icing on the cake was when the 1st citizen of the Country Her Excellency The President of India Ms. Draupadi Murmu had recognized her and appreciated her work for girl children . A moment so surreal.. Her conviction in changing the facade of Indian rural girls from carrying mud pots with torn clothes to carrying Satellites and working on them is her success. As the visionary behind SKI, Dr. Kesan has etched indelible marks in the annals of space history. From orchestrating space camps that have empowered over half a million students to unveiling groundbreaking initiatives like "AzaadiSat," her commitment to democratizing space education remains unwavering. She born in joint family, she was the only one girl baby in there family , she was the loved once in there family. Till SSLC she was very good in studies, activities and everything..in she got health issues.TUBERCLOSIS suddenly her weight went down, doctors told no guarantee for her life 😭 everybody in family 4 maternal aunties,mom ,dad grand mother, maternal uncle, granny's mother every one started praying for God . Ammu'mother has spent lots money nearly 1.5 lac for hospital. Mother was going to garments for work, father was working in saloon..he was having alcohol habbit.so everything her mother was handling..after 1 year Ammu recovered.now there family was very happy.she became beautiful girl... Many proposals were coming to her .she went to computer class , beautician class .. now a boy proposed her ..she was friendly with him but he was very serious atlast she said yes for his proposal he was her relative and he was a good boy Ammu age was 18 and his age was 26 .. after some family issues they ok for there marriage. After the she came to know wt is life ... everything changed she doesn't know cooking washing clothes washing vessels etc etc before marriage he told that don't I'm there for u in every moment.....but after no words from him , he was not ready to listen her words she started feeling lonely.. her age was 19 ..she got scoldings for every works , she doesn't know what is scolding before marriage but now she scoldings is her daily routine..by the by her husband name was purshottam he was not bad ...but don't wanna listen her feelings then she became very low and low. ,,she was depressed, she became very dark in colour,she became over weight and she got pcod ....4 yrs completed in this 4 yrs happyness was 20/ and sadness was 80/ ... She went to job as a telecaller ,she suffered lot with office work with house work...she quit the job ..she was in her friend name Savita. She was the one who listens her happiness sadness heartfully everything. Ammu was not saying anything to her parents because mom don't wanna feel bad ammu was very happy in front of her mom ..in 2019 ammu got a new frnd in online his name is Vijju ..now her life started changing into colour full..he started to encourage her in everything..and now she is very smart , beautiful 😍 now she is master chef in cooking.....
