In the tapestry of life, some stories are woven with threads of resilience, courage, and unwavering determination. Yours, dear Captain Dr, Pooja Mehra (Retd), is an epic saga of triumph over adversity, a narrative that echoes with the cadence of a soldier's heart and the wisdom of a scholar's mind. Your journey commenced in the crucible of challenge, navigating through the labyrinth of obstacles to earn the honor of wearing the Indian Army uniform. The Officers Training Academy in Chennai, renowned as Asia's toughest, sculpted you into a paragon of strength, forging a spirit unyielding in the face of any trial. From those hallowed grounds, you emerged not just as a captain but as a testament to the adage that toughness begets toughness. Serving the nation with pride became your anthem, and the uniform, your second skin. Yet, as the sands of time flowed, you gracefully hung your uniform, only to embark on a new odyssey. Academia beckoned, and you answered with the same fervor that defined your military service. Armed with an MBA earned before donning the olive green, you seamlessly transitioned into the role of a lecturer, later ascending to the positions of dean and director in management colleges. But your story is not confined to boardrooms and lecture halls; it spills onto the pages of books on management and psychology. With each word, you offered insights gleaned from the dual crucibles of warfare and academia, becoming an author who not only managed organizations but also unravelled the intricacies of the human psyche. Intrigued by the mysteries of human behavior, you delved further into the realm of psychology. A Masters in Counseling Psychology was not the culmination but a stepping stone. The pursuit of knowledge led you to the prestigious Institute of Counselling and Transactional Analysis in Kochi, where you earned a diploma in Transactional Analysis. A Bachelor's in Education, with guidance and counseling as a major, further enriched your academic arsenal in 2019. Your insatiable appetite for learning continues unabated. Presently, as a professor in a management college in Pune, you seamlessly balance the rigors of academia with the demands of homemaking. Your resilience extends beyond the intellectual realm; it's etched in the miles you conquer daily, the marathons you triumph over, and the strength you've regained post-major surgeries and deliveries. A multifaceted persona, you epitomize the fusion of strength, intellect, and grace. A retired captain, a scholar, an author, a fitness enthusiast, and a homemaker – each facet glistens brightly in the mosaic of your life. Through the pages of your story, one discerns not just a woman of substance but a living testament to the power of tenacity and the indomitable spirit of a soldier who traded her uniform for a pen and continued to script victories in the battlefield of life.

Dr Geetanjali Jha

Raipur | Age: 38

I have been working in the field of psychological counselling since more than a decade. During pandemic I started getting a lot of cases around the issues of over use and misuse of the Internet by children of all ages. The parents of teenagers and adolescents were the most stressed, as the digital exposure combined with the regular changes of teenage started creating a havoc. This led me to think of an action plan where I could proactively help parents to minimise the exposure to threats and risks of the Internet, while also gently guiding the children towards the most optimum use of the opportunities present on the Internet, and introducing them to the techniques of managing problems like gaming addiction, social media addiction, revenge scrolling, 'selfitis' etc. I have been working as a cyber psychology researcher and digital parenting expert with iMature since 2020 and I found their program on Digital Citizenship and Internet Maturity to the most comprehensive. Taking that as a base, I have developed a program called the "Digital Parent Transformation Program", for parents of children of all ages. This program aims to help parents inculcate the maturity and responsibility of using the Internet in their kids, right from a young age. The program also teaches the young adults the most vital digital skills needed to keep themselves safe online while also maximizing on the positive exposure that is available to them in this day and age. The program is already up and running since a year now and it is India's first program on this vital and urgent topic. I am also writing a book on the same theme which is expected to be published sometime in the beginning of 2024. The book is also the first of its kind, as it carries several unique insights like discovering your own digital parenting style, mapping the digital skills with the academic and professional opportunities the Internet opens up for our kids. Moreover, it is a book that is based on existing psychological theories, and aims to bring about a change in the cyber behavior of the child. Rather than giving some quick fixes, it aims to teach safe and responsible online behavior and minimise maladaptive online behavior. In addition to this I also helped iMature develop a program for schools called "The DCIM Club", and its tool kit, which is running in several schools all over India, free of cost. The program's main objective is to facilitate Digital Citizenship and Internet Maturity education in schools. It's additional objectives are to make all teachers and staff members responsible and mature digital citizens, and to enhance the online reputation of the school. I am hoping that my initiatives would be enough to at least bring my cause into the public eye even if I do not win an award for it, as this is a burning issue today.

I am from a middle class family, from childhood i only know staying in house, helping mother in kitchen and managing House hold work... I did my graduation, then joined job in reputed company, the way i looked to others was very much educated, she will not mix with others, she doesn't know house work, she doesn't know nothing in cooking. But after people interaction with me, anywhere like my friends or collegiate or Collugeues..... They would tell you are completely down to earth, we are so surprised to see such an educated and working girl knows everything, in fact more than us, she knows kitchen recipes to cook and heal people.... And very creative, in recipes... And very helpful... She should get a nice husband. But to my faith, after marriage my husband and mother in law, to suppress me said they didn't like the food prepared by me, said people lies....y neighbors and the colony people would not speak to me, later would scold me that i am not a good wife amd good daughter in law.... After few months or days... By seeing my nature and eating my food when they was emergency.... They all liked me and would support me and ask the recipe.... This my husband and mother in law never liked.... Problems went to such an extent..... That i left my husband... I am a single parent with two small kids..... I want to start my juice shop and porridge mix shop for many innovative ideas for summer and winter. No money or support from anyone.... Every day i think of ideas amd new recipes... Smile amd keep quite..... Because people taunt amd laugh at me... Make fun... I tell myself its okay..... My talent and my character is mine... No one can steel it or use it.... Let them laugh... Only i know what i am.

Coming from a small town I always wanted to study and make a mark for myself. As there weren't any good opportunities in my town for graduation, i requested my parents to send me to Pune for graduation and further studies. They agreed on one condition that I will study well and will maintain our family dignity. I studied hard and stayed in good company. Became a university topper and was in top 50 students across the city. I wished to do my MBA in finance and marketing and secured a seat in a prestigious institute in Pune. Did well and was placed in a very good Corporate in financial services. Since that day I have never looked back. I worked hard and got great recognition at work. Today at I am at a senior managerial position in a renowned company and get great respect. My parents are also very proud of my achievements and I am thankful to them for trusting me and sending me over to complete my studies in a bigger city. Education definitely gives you freedom of choice. It's not necessary that you work or study from a top college but studying itself makes you more confident and self sufficient. So whenever there is a need for you to work or if you want to start your own business, you will have enough confidence and network to be on your own. Trust yourself and trust the process of self evolution.

Being a teacher I love to teach to my students MY LIFE AS A TEACHER 📖 Humbly, after a lifetime of teaching, I’ve come to see that you can’t change anyone. So, what am I doing in the many circles I convene all over the world? Well, I’ve come to see that being a teacher means serving as a greenhouse: providing light and warmth to the living things before us so they can grow in the various ways they are meant to grow. If I am invested in changing you, that assumes I know what you should be changed into. This is presumptuous and dangerous. In the realm of transferring knowledge, there are definite and precise things to learn and skill sets to master. But in the deeper realm of knowing, there is no such arrival point. There is only the constant becoming of our soul on Earth, which no one can prescribe or schedule. As a tree grows from the imprint of its seed, each life grows in the world from the imprint of its soul. We can only water the seed for each other and care for each other’s growth. In this regard, our being directs our doing. So, I encourage you to water the roots of your being so it can grow its gestures into the world. In a modern age that commodifies everything, our challenge is to grow from the inside out, letting every holy calling find its own expression within us and between us. After decades of listening to the stories and struggles of others, I can bear witness that teaching, in its most profound form, is not moving a life from here to there, or from effort to achievement, or even from chaos to order. Rather, teaching is creating the enduring environment in which the seed of the soul can know itself and blossom. With all this in mind, I invite you to consider the vantage point from which you relate to your students, no matter the size or shape of your classroom:
